In Stillness Find Your Greater Purpose

“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

As 2021 comes to a close, we still our hearts and minds in gratitude, reflection, introspection, and even self-correction. We invite peace into our souls and through this practice we create a place of enlightenment, conversation, and realignment. Every morning I start my day by taking a moment to sit in silence, as it gives me time to center myself and listen to my inner knowing. When we make time in our day to really listen mindfully, we are able to hear our deepest truths. Listening means unraveling what we believe as “truth.” Often these truths become carved in stone and they become statements that we believe determine our skills and abilities, never questioning their validity:

"I don't have the qualifications, skills or pedigree"

"I come from less, so I am not worthy of more …"

"I am not as pretty/athletic/ innovative enough to be…."

"I am not as smart, with multiple advanced degrees."

These “truths” are based on ideas that negative experiences told to us from a young age, and we internalize and feed them. And as we grow, we fool ourselves into believing that we have lost the things that make us special and that begins the cycle of internal tension. However, the more you learn to embrace silence, and shut off these external lies, the more our power, purpose, and path becomes clearer to us. At every stage in our lives, we have a choice to embrace fear, believe what we are told or get uncomfortable, grow and have faith in our lives mission.

I could have continued to believe that my value was determined by the corporate jobs I held and stayed safely in my lane, but instead, I chose to embrace what I knew was my mission to discover GREATER. I pushed myself to get out of my comfort zone and began charting a new course for my life by offering my skills and services. This awakening all happened at a time when I had lost a job and was surviving off of unemployment. And oddly enough it was that very time in life that showed me that my divine purpose was not only in creating wealth for myself, but also in serving others with inspiration, help and hope. I created peace in my heart and understood the intended simplicity by which I was meant to live. As I understood and embraced my path, abundance naturally flowed. All of the pain, heartache, struggle, joy, acclaim, and accolades you receive are passing lessons.

There is no complex formula to discover our mission. We do it through prayer, meditation, and embracing silence to hear the words of our higher selves. I start my day with intention and I journal at night to reflect on the signs that I have been sent throughout the day. When I go for a mindful walk or listen to music, I let my spirit guide me and focus on the energy of each moment. That’s it - trust that the answers you seek are already within you.

Our path to finding our mission is simpler than we would like to believe, it just takes a leap of faith. The simple truth is that we are beings of humility and dignity and strength and love. When we embrace this truth, we are existing and moving from a place of peace.

We were sent to experience this life, with its changes and challenges to make us see who we really are and how we can manifest abundance through divine guidance. Through prayer and meditation, we connect back to our core place of peace and we can better tap into our higher selves. When we strive to exist from a place of peace, it frees us to be more authentic. Living authentically allows us to embrace this radical idea that all things are possible and within our grasp. The threat to our peace is in the hurried and rushed life we live, taking for granted those precious moments where we get to breathe and be. The global pandemic forced us all to take a moment and challenge the rushed nature of our existence. Making us slow down and question what we are rushing towards?

Unfortunately, no one could answer that question. It seemed that we were hurrying towards an end without really having lived.. We were not hearing the true healing vibration of the universe because we have cluttered our mind with so much noise...The universe is trying to guide and teach us, but we have to listen.

If our mind is full of noise and clutter, where do we create space for our purpose to make itself known to us? How can we understand the lessons that appeared as challenges before us, if we think we know the answers? How can we teach our mind, heart, and soul to find harmony and act in the spirit of love? In stillness lies the power of clarity.

My greatest revelations, most profound thoughts, and business strategies have come from moments of peace and serenity. Those times where I could silence the noise and create space to give light to new epiphanies and insights helped me understand the world better and understand the master plan for my life. How empowering is it to know that you have been gifted something to share with the world and all you have to do is answer the call of your greater purpose? When you focus on prayer and meditation, allowing stillness and silence in, you will identify that purpose.

When we surrender all the misguided beliefs that we have created about ourselves, we are able to open our hearts at the deepest level and acknowledge our own unique Greater Than.

D.C. Nostalgia

They say life begins outside of your comfort zone; a notion for me that continues to ring true. Thus far, each life opportunity that I've been afforded to embrace has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. If New York was the city where I sat in the seat of my soul and tapped into my full potential, then D.C. was the place where ...

I've been saying it for years - the answer really is WITHIN! But we are taught to always reach OUTward. And it's in the OUT that we become exposed to the lies. WE ARE THE WIN - it's within and how God designed it! Keep moving forward! Greater ahead!

Yes learning to sit quiet long enough to HEAR your inner voice and trust it - is a whole growth process. But the benefit of stillness is unmatched.
